Following the diagnosis of a potentially serious medical condition in November 2020, it was necessary to lose weight and make sustainable lifestyle changes if I hoped to improve my health naturally and avoid medication. I therefore approached Kate who has been my Reiki Master since 1998 and she was tremendously sympathetic and encouraging. She assured me I could effect changes resulting in weight loss which could improve my condition initially and be realistically maintained moving forward. In addressing my diet with her help I lost weight steadily (and without hunger pangs!) so that a health review in March 2021 led to very welcome good results all round and I do not need another review for twelve months. Many thanks to Kate for her expertise and warmth!

Kate has been an understanding, kind & supportive coach. Very informative. I learnt a lot & felt heard. I couldn’t have asked for more.   The follow up fortnightly zoom sessions are a great forward step from the initial meetings.  I’d always looked how much sugar was in food but not actually looked if sugar was actually in the ingredients. Also never realised there was so much sugar in caramelised onion hummus! The shopping trip I found supportive & collaborative & a great reminder that just because you aren’t eating sugar doesn’t mean you can’t eat delicious foods.  I would recommend it. I would say if you are finding it hard to integrate the changes into your life get support from a nutrition coach

Very helpful.  My digestions system has improved, I feel less stressed at work and I have more energy with a better concentration. Less sluggish.  I was half way there with my variety of meals which I home cook. Further tweaks and swaps were needed. For example not feeling guilty about using mayonnaise with Tuna.I have now swapped to decaf T-bags and am more conscious of my carb intake, especially on an evening meal.  I would recommend however they have to be committed if they want change.  This has been an eye opener as my mindset had adapted to the Slimming world way of life.  I have learnt not to feel guilty about eating healthy fats and enjoying my meals.

[The suggested changes have] helped me start to repair my toxic relationship with food.  I have been sleeping better and I have just felt 'lighter' (even though I have not lost any weight).  I have also been drinking less alcohol as well which is a great change.  Kate is very knowledgeable about how to change my diet for the better (even though I already thought I was eating healthily).  [I learned] not to be so afraid of full fat foods, to think carefully about what is a carbohydrate and to snack on proteins.  If you want to eat more healthily in tune with your body then Kate is the person to go to.  It has also been amazingly helpful to talk about regulating sugars as well.  It's been eye opening for me to work with Kate as my fear of food is diminishing and I genuinely feel as though I could start to have a positive relationship with my meals!
